Why Climate Control
Built for Carolina Humidity
Summers in Rutherford County are hot and humid. In a standard unit, that moisture and heat can build up for months, which can warp wood, grow mildew on fabric, corrode electronics, and leave papers and photos stuck together.
Our climate-controlled units are inside an enclosed building kept between 60 and 76 degrees Fahrenheit, so your things stay protected from the swings in temperature and humidity that cause long-term damage.
We’re on Oakland Road in Forest City, close to Spindale, Rutherfordton, Ellenboro, Bostic, Caroleen, and Cliffside.

Climate-Controlled FAQ
Questions About Climate Control
Do I need climate-controlled storage in North Carolina?
If you’re storing wood furniture, electronics, photos, documents, mattresses, or clothing, climate control is usually worth it. Carolina heat and humidity can cause warping, mildew, and damage over time. Drive-up units are a good fit for tools, outdoor gear, and items that handle temperature changes.
What temperature are the climate-controlled units kept at?
Our climate-controlled units are kept between 60 and 76 degrees Fahrenheit.
What's the difference between climate-controlled and drive-up storage?
Climate-controlled units are inside an enclosed building and protected from heat and humidity. Drive-up units open to the outside so you can pull right up and load. See drive-up storage if you’re storing tools, equipment, or items that handle temperature changes.
How much does a climate-controlled unit cost?
Climate-controlled units start at $80 a month for a 10×5 and go up to $240 a month for a 10×25. See every size on our Sizes & Rates page.
